An engineer thinks that his equations are an approximation to reality. A physicist thinks reality is an approximation to his equations. A mathematician doesn't care.
Hello everyone! Sorry about the lack of a newsletter last week. Hopefully you got the Yahoo! Group message though. If you didn't, please ask an officer to add you to the group. Also, if you know anyone in Mu Alpha Theta who hasn't been receiving newsletters, please tell one of the officers.
In other news, the BMT is coming up. It will be held on November 13, 2004. For those of you who don't know, this is the tournament that we, as a club, host at Bellaire. Right now, we need to get started writing various tests so that the tournament will be super fun! Available topics are Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Number Sense, Calculator, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Spanish, Chinese, IQ test, Entertainment Trivia, and General Trivia. If you think that you might like to write one of these tests, please contact one of the officers.
Our next meeting will be after school, Thursday, September 30, 2004 in Room S263 (Mrs. Ghosh's room). The meeting will mainly be for:
